Small town, small dating pool? Go a bit further
In a town of a few thousand, you can run out of new faces by the second weekend. Most people outside the capitals already drive an hour for a specialist appointment or a decent hardware store, so it makes sense to draw your dating circle the same way: the next town along, the coast if you're inland, the valley over the range.
Write the distance into your profile. "Based near Mildura, happy to drive to Swan Hill" or "Hunter Valley, in Newcastle most Saturdays" tells people more than a postcode does. When everyone in town knows everyone
Regional dating has its own problems. The person at the next table may be your cousin's ex. Your profile photo might be recognised at the servo before you've sent a message. And if you work a roster, the only free evening you have may be a Tuesday.

Plenty of people do. The Australian site called Oasis Active closed in 2020. Oasis Singles is a different site, run by a different company, High Intent Media Inc.
That means your old Oasis Active login, messages, contacts and payments are not here, and we have no way to recover them. If you'd like to try Oasis Singles, you'd start with a new, free profile. Safe first dates, in town or on a trail
Meet somewhere public the first time, get yourself there and home again, and tell a friend where you'll be. In a small town that's easy; on a walking track it takes more planning, because phone coverage can drop out and help can be a long way off. Pick a popular, well-marked track in daylight, and save the remote overnight hike for later.
The biggest risk online isn't the date, it's the person who never quite makes it to one. Anyone who asks for money, gift cards or crypto, or wants to move the chat to another app straight away, is worth a hard look. Is this the old Oasis Active?
No. Oasis Active closed in 2020. Oasis Singles is a separate site run by High Intent Media Inc, and old accounts, messages and payments didn't come across, so you'd start with a fresh profile.
What does it cost?
Signing up, setting up a profile and browsing cost nothing. To read and reply to messages you need a paid membership, priced in US dollars; your bank converts it to AUD. The prices page has the current options.
Who can join?
Anyone 18 or over. Profiles are shared with partner sites in the same network, so you may also come across members who signed up somewhere else.
I live a long way from anyone. Is it worth it?
That's who the site is for. Our guides cover dating when the nearest match might be an hour's drive away, and keeping things private when everyone in town knows everyone.
Where do I report a scam in Australia?

How do I cancel?
